Best Summer Vacation Cameras 2012
We’ve been looking forward to our summer vacation for months now, Teddy and I finally got to take our 2 girls to Disney Land for the first time! We wanted to capture every moment, so we were looking to upgrade our camera – and we did some research on what would be the right camera for us. I wanted to share what I learned with others in case they’re also looking for a new camera for a vacation or trip!
BEST OUTDOORS CAMERA – Kodak Easyshare M853: If you’re going camping or taking lots of pictures in a sunny environment, this is the best camera. It’s small, easy to carry, has 8MP, a 3x optical zoom, and a nifty built-in lens cover. You can get them for under $150 in most stores.
BEST CAMERA/VIDEO CAMERA COMBO – Canon Powershot A550: This is actually just an update of last years model A530 – but they’ve added in quite a few new features like a larger LCD and 7.1 MP. 4x zoom, optical finder and VGA movie mode. It’s reaaally simple to use for anyone young or old – and you can buy them for around $200.
BEST ZOOMIN CAMERA – Fujifilm FinePix S8000fd: Love bird watching? Want to go on a safari? If you have any reason you’d like to take pictures with today’s best zoom settings available – this machine boasts an 8MP, 18x megaoom camera. Comes with image stabilization, full manual controls and VGA movie mode. There are newer models that seem to have just confused the layout of the camera – so I suggest this one, grab it at a discount because of the newer models for around $350 at most stores!
We ended up going with the Canon Powershot camera because we could take pictures/videos of the entire trip – which worked out wonderfully for us! I hope CGC and everyone reading is having a great summer too!
